I thought this video was both critical and hopeful. In so many classrooms today we are still teaching with the same technology we used one hundred years ago while our students go home and spend hours online. The question for educators is--how can we use the changing technological interests of our students to their educational benefit? It is with this answer that, in part, the future of America's schools, depends.
Loved this video. I actually found it a bit funny because I think the students' messages were something we all know. We know that our students are not always paying attention, we know there are better ways to engage them, we know that students don't always do their assignments....we know there are more effective ways to reach them based on the current technology the world has to offer us. It is obvious that by popular demand technology wins, so lets foster this concept not fight it.
I agree especially about the text book part...it's so true! I entered college about 10 years ago and things were so much different then they are now! If I only knew then what I know now!
I really enjoyed the video. As high school teacher I can honestly say that it truly depicts the perspective of my students. It also adheres to this idea that students today are digital learners.
